| General Store |
|
The Lockwood, Smith & Co. General Store might easily be described as the supermarket of the 1800's! Here you could buy or barter for food goods, purchase sewing needs or a new hat that had come to Milan via schooner. The pharmacist behind his counter would fill your prescription. On a chilly day the warmth of the pot-bellied stove drew menfolk to linger for a game of checkers.
The museum's Gift Shop is located in the general store building as are the public restroom facilities. The Shop is stocked with items for sale reflecting the diverse collections of the museum and the handiwork of local artists and crafters.
