This Month in History... February

Photo taken of the square after the ice storm of February 17, 1909.  A reminder that winter is not over!  The tall flagpole was the last of four successive poles on that site. An earlier one was a mast of the Milan-built schooner, Idaho

Kids quilting table

>> Carraige Shed

The Milan fire brigade worked to put out fires without the use of modern hoses and water pressure.  Explore the world of agriculture with farming tools.  Milan had an agricultural-based economy and the development of tools made the work easier for the farmers.

 >> Blacksmith Shop

The shop would have been dark, dirty, loud and hot!  The bellows heated the fire, the anvil shaped hot iron, and the water cooled finished products.
