This Month in History... February
.jpg)
Photo taken of the square after the ice storm of February 17, 1909. A reminder that winter is not over! The tall flagpole was the last of four successive poles on that site. An earlier one was a mast of the Milan-built schooner, Idaho

No town was complete without the "Smithy". The blacksmith forged more than just the necessary custom-made horseshoe as you will see in the museum's blacksmith shop.
A highlight in the display area is our life-sized horse made from papier-mache and sporting a "proper" saddle for milady.
The Carriage Shed is a showcase for large equipment, from the special occasion buggy with the fringe on top to the massive Hoover Potato Digger, an ingenious solution to the drudgery of harvesting potatoes by hand.
Though not as renowned as Thomas Edison's many patents, the Hoover Potato Digger was the invention of IW Hoover and revolutionized the farming industry.
Examine up close our antique fire equipment, farm apparatus, and cart made by Milan Cart Works.
